Meena Durairaj popularily known as Meena was born on 16 September 1976 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Meena started her career as a child artist through the Tamil film 'Nenjangal' in 1982. Later she has appeared in lot of Tamil movies as a child artist.

Meena's has done her first leading role in 'Oru Pudiya Kadhai' which was released in Tamil in 1990. Meena has later appeared in lot of Tamil movies and also in other South Indian languages like Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada. She is also acted in Bollywood; her one and only Bollywood movie is 'Parda Hai Parda' which was released in 1992.

Meena married Vidyasagar, a software engineer from Bengaluru in 12 July 2009. After marriage she says that she will continue her acting career. In addition to movies Meena has worked as a model, singer, TV anchor and a dubbing artist.
